And more...

The Rocky Mountain News continues its investigation of the University of Colorado's charges against Ward Churchill today, with an article examining the charge that Churchill has twice published the work of others as his own. The article concludes that yes, Churchill has plagiarized, but that no, he has not done so twice. Rather, he's done it multiple times.

Meanwhile, Churchill has responded to some of the paper's claims. His exchange with Rocky Mountain News editor John Temple is posted on Temple's website. Thanks to Linda Seebach for the link.

Comments:

Some of the commenters to the News piece are just as crazy as Churchill!

I can't stand the arrogant attitude (demonstrated by many of the News commenters) that implies that those who are concerned about something as "insignificant" as the Churchill case are obviously haters of free speech and are Bush administration robots.

People need to realize that this man is teaching impressionable undergraduates. And forming their world views. A true academic provides *all* pieces of information, teaches students how to analyze it *on their own*, and then sits back and watches.

At least that's what I try to do. Maybe I'm in a minority.

I agree with Becky here. This POS professor is up there taking up a spot that could be used to hire a professor who really does his job instead of this bag of wind who is on the faculty based on false pretenses. I thought that one of the main elements of the true search for knowledge was integrity. Apparently that has gone by the wayside and this guy's acolytes see nothing wrong with what he did and thing the whole world is being mean to him. Unbelievable!! I graduated from college about 45 years ago and I can tell you that this guy would have been dropkicked off the campus for what he is doing.
