Middlebury College students have founded a quidditch team. With hula hoops for goals and an acrobatic human proxy for the golden snitch, Middlebury quidditch players compete with brooms between their legs, and by all accounts have a wonderful time. Movements are afoot at Bucknell and Vassar to found similar teams; students there plan to abide by the rules posted at Facebook's "Intercollegiate Quidditch Association." Meanwhile, Middlebury students plan to invite quidditch-creator J.K. Rowling to attend their annual world cup competition this spring, which tends to attract a crowd of around 50 people.
